Top 50 New Products at Showcase
The Top 50 New Products at Showcase can be found in a special display area in the Shelbourne Hall. Chosen by a panel of independent retailers, the Top 50 Producsts are int he categories of Craft and Gift, Tabletop &Interiors, Jewellery, Fashion , iknitwear and Accessories. Each category has a Winner and Two Highly Commended exhibitors and one Overall Winner of Best New Product at the show. Cillian Johnson won the Tabeltop & Interiors Section with his Aran Beag Lamp,
Showcase Fashion 2012 - A New Platform for Irish Fashion
An exciting new addition to this year's show is Showcase Fashion 2012, a bold presentation of the best of Irish fashion from 60 Irish designer-makers and manufacturers. Directed and produced by Sonia Reynolds, Showcase Fashion 2012 - one of the biggest fashion presentations in Ireland this year - was held in the beautiful surroundings of the RDS Members' Library on Sunday evening,. Showcase Fashio 2012 is platform for new designers and established brands. The enthusiastic audience of 200 trade buyers from at home and abroad, were shown Irish fashion in a fresh, innovative way, reflecting the excitement and creativity of the sector.
President Michael D Higgins Opens Showcase 2012
Speaking in the RDS at the opening of Showcase 2012, Ireland’s Creative Expo, Karen Hennessy CEO of the Crafts Council of Ireland said there is a window of opportunity right now for Irish designed and made, locally crafted goods and Ireland needs to capitalise on this opportunity. “The demand for authentic, unique, high quality Irish products is reflected in the fact that pre-show buyer registrations for Showcase 2012 are up over 70% compared to last year and today we have been welcoming buyers arriving from as far away as Japan and Canada,” said Ms Hennessy
