Free Retail Clinics at Showcase 2010
For the first time, Showcase will be making three senior retail executives available to you to provide one- to- one advice sessions. Designed to give you the opportunity to talk to the experts in business development, in sales staff training and motivation and in store design and merchandising.
The clinics are located in the Shelbourne Hall near the Seminar Area. You can drop by for a consultation or make an appointment in advance to ensure you get the time that suits you best. For details on how to book, see below.
James Burke Retail Clinic
James Burke is a senior level retail executive with over 25 years of boardroom and retail operations experience. He is also the retail advisor to the soon to be aired TV programme,”Feargal Quinn’s Retail Therapy”. James will be on hand each day to talk to retailers individually and provide advice for your business.
If you drop in to the clinic at any time James will be happy to chat with you and any other retailers who are there at that time. If however you would like a one to one session we recommend you book this in advance by emailing barbara@jamesburke.ie before January 15th and request a slot time for 15 minutes on your own with James. It would also be helpful if you want to discuss a particular topic that you flag this on your email. Booking sessions is also free.
Clinic with Jane Newbigging
With over 25 years’ experience in retail and training and development, Jane will be on hand to offer practical advice on ways to motivate staff to sell. She will also talk to you about how to improve customer spend and gain loyalty.
To get the most out of your meeting, please bring details of size & nature of your business; number of staff and photograph of your sales/ payment areas.

Clinic with Céline Cummins MIDI, International Retail Designer
Céline will be giving free tips on how get the best results from your store design. She will offer free advice on cost effective makeovers, visual merchandising and window display.
To make the most of your consultation, be sure to bring with you interior and exterior photographs of your store, along with a plan showing the existing product layout (including, if possible, a blank plan) to get the most out of your consultation.
