Originally working in wood, he makes his
jewellery using pigmented resin and recently
he has been experimenting with cut and
polished reindeer antler.Contemporary jewellery designer Paul Coyne of Nine
Design describes his work as erring on the side of
minimalism. The pieces respect architectural principles,
he explains, which makes sense when you discover that
Paul has a background in furniture design having studied
the subject at GMIT in Letterfrack, Co. Galway.
Upon graduation he joined the family business, working as a general contractor. He started making small turned wood gifts and discovered his inner dandy when he made himself a pair of cufflinks. They offer a subtle way of accessorising, he explains.
