A story behind every stitch. Our founder Mrs Maura Hughes began weaving the story of Aran Woollen Mills in 1965, when she established the business to follow her passion for Irish craft, heritage and to provide employment locally in the West of Ireland. For three generations since that modest first step, the family business has grown to become an established Aran knitwear manufacturer. From Westport to the world, we are proud to be design-led global leaders in the manufacturing of traditional and contemporary knitwear. We are delighted to introduce our new collection for 2022. Our beautiful natural heritage pieces are designed and manufactured to the highest standard in the West of Ireland. Aran Woollen Mills continues to produce 100% natural knitwear which is now critical as we face growing environmental challenges.From 100% Merino to our traditional Worsted wools and our luxurious Supersoft Merino wool we have an exceptional range of yarns,styles and colours for our customers to choose from.
