Julie Kennedy Fogarty Children's Author

With a PhD in Economics and over 15 years’ experience across industry and academia, Julie took a creative leap into children’s publishing, inspired by life with her four young children in the Irish countryside outside Fethard, Co. Tipperary.

Over the past two years, Julie has significantly grown the presence of her books in the Irish market. Her books are now distributed nationwide and stocked in a growing network of independent bookshops, premium gift shops, heritage attractions and family-focused retailers across Ireland.

Julie’s books have also received recognition beyond the Irish retail market. In 2026, her titles were longlisted for the CAP Awards, while Reuben’s Hunt for a Home was shortlisted in both the Children’s and Debut categories of the UK Ink Book Awards.

Her books combine storytelling, humour and emotional warmth, with themes of friendship, kindness, resilience and belonging. Designed for young children and their families, they are books to enjoy together, while also making thoughtful gifts and keepsakes.

All of Julie’s books are proudly printed locally in Cashel, Co. Tipperary, supporting Irish production and keeping the business firmly rooted in the community that inspires her work.

Julie is now focused on growing her retail and gifting partnerships, expanding her presence across Ireland and developing opportunities in the UK and international markets.
