Far Side of the Moon is a contemporary nature-inspired artwork exploring mystery, perspective and the human fascination with what remains unseen.
The title refers to the side of the Moon that is permanently turned away from Earth, but the work extends this idea beyond the physical world. It reflects the many aspects of life, nature and existence that remain hidden simply because we cannot see them from where we stand.
The artwork invites the viewer to consider how limited perspective can shape our understanding of reality. There may be beauty, complexity and possibility existing just beyond the boundaries of what we are able to perceive.
For Michelle Hennigan, the natural world provides a constant reminder that there is more happening beneath the surface than we can immediately recognise. Far Side of the Moon explores this sense of wonder and encourages the viewer to look beyond the familiar, question what they think they know and remain curious about what lies beyond their immediate field of vision.
Created by contemporary nature artist Michelle Hennigan, the work forms part of her wider exploration of perception, mystery, nature and the unseen dimensions of the world around us.
