Anita Reynolds works from her studio in Ballivor Co, Meath creating Textiles and Ceramics inspired by her surroundings. She is passionate about nature and loves to walk in the countryside gathering inspiration from the woodlands, meadows, andhistorical ruins in the Boyne Valley.Anita is adding to her products this year with a range of six ceramic “Words from the Heart” or “Focal on Croi”. Each heart is stamped with a small meaningful Irish wordor phrase as well as an impression of a native Irish leaf or vintage Irishembroidery/lace. The lettering is created using a wooden Gaelic type once used by her father and Grandfather in their family printing business in Co. Meath. The heartsinclude gra, brod, cara, go deo, mo stor and pog. Each piece is packaged in a recyclable branded box with a bilingual information card which gives a definition and explains how each piece was made.Anita also has a range of colourful Love Birds for outdoors which are created by hand in stoneware ceramics. Each one has a unique pose and paired together theyappear to communicate with each other. They add a lovely splash of colour to a garden or balcony and come boxed in pairs. There are 10 colours to choose from.Megalithic Marks is a unique selection of art batiks inspired by the ancient Irish carvings of the Boyne Valley in Anitas home county. Having worked in Knowth as a student Anita she has always loved these ancient marks. They are vibrant, abstractpieces with marks and motifs that reflect the art of Loughcrew, Newgrange and Knowth. Each piece is an original work created on vintage Irish linen. Unwanted anddamaged damask linens are used to create the colourful art pieces. They pick up the dyes beautifully and give an Irish textile classic a new life!Anita loves creating theseone-off joyful works of art. Each piece comes mounted and can be framed orunframed. A branded basket is supplied for easy and attractive display of unframed pieces. A beautifully designed bilingual card in Irish explaining the ideas behind therange is supplied with each art work.Anita has four textile ranges of framed embroideries/batiks which have been popular since her first Showcase in 2019. These include Irish landscapes, Irish Birds, the Four Seasons and Carved in Cloth. Carved in Cloth is inspired once again by herlove of Irish historical carving this time a medieval tomb near where she grew up. Anita loves to bring the ancient stone images to life through the use of soft dyedfabrics, embroidery, and quilting. Medieval cupids and floral motifs are created in relief and beautifully enhanced in her framed textile art.
