Clare O’Connor is an award-winning multidisciplinary artist and designer from County Meath. She has lived and worked in Berlin & Venice and exhibited in exhibitions across Ireland, Germany, Italy, USA and the UK. She is currently the Associate Artist in Visual Arts for Meath. Drawing on a background in both Design Communications and Visual Arts Practice from IADT, Clare’s work explores energy, movement, and consciousness through dynamic compositions of colour, pattern, and form.
Clare's vibrant abstract paintings form the foundation of her distinctive wearable art brand. Her collections are energetic and colourful, translating her expressive, intuitive paintings into timeless, collectible accessories, clothing & homewares that merge art, design, and sustainability. She launched her brand in 2018 and has been developing and fine tuning her collections ever since. Her accessories are season-less, statement pieces, which are timeless, collectible & sustainable. To bring continuity and a strong sense of her art across to her brand, she developed a signature stripe across all her collections. She has brought a contrast stripe to her scarves, tote bags, umbrellas, cushions, sleep sets, hair accessories, dresses & kimonos so that they are instantly elevated & recognisable. She uses a striped hand rolled edge, striped frayed edge & reverse stripe on her scarves & she has brought those details across to her clothing & umbrella ranges. These design details bring a luxurious & unique twist to her accessories & makes the finishes & edges more exquisite.
Clare ranges of luxury scarves are all made using natural fabrics like 100% Silk, 100% Bamboo, Wool/Silk & Modal/Silk and her range of RPET umbrellas are made out of recycled water bottles. By combining creativity, high quality design, sustainability and durability with an ethos of buy less, buy quality, Clare has developed high quality luxury ranges which are made to be cherished and made to last.
Clare was selected to be part of Create in 2021 & 2022 in Brown Thomas & she now has 35 stockists across Ireland, The US & Europe most notably Ashford Castle, The Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia and The Clark Art Institute in Massachusetts. Recently she was in a Design Ireland Pop up in Arnotts during from February to August 2025. She has been featured in the Irish Times, The Gloss, The Irish Independent, The Irish Examiner, The Business Post, The Sunday World, Image Magazine, Hot Press, The Chronicle, The Farmers Journal & Galway Now and her work has been showcased on Ireland AM, The Today Show and The Late Late Show.
