At My Tribe we make wearable glass art. Using the highest quality fused glass and sterling silver ,we adore creating pieces that celebrate your life by finding the perfect scale , creating powerful shapes , melting sensuous curves and making it resonate with powerful tribal energy. Tribal markings carry so much meaning ,and while our contemporary tribe has energetic urban and global references,we have intertwined it with Ogham,our historical tribal alphabet.Ogham is an early celtic alphabet using the simplest ,dynamic marks to communicate their meaning .We are stronger together and the sense of power and protection that comes from belonging comes from finding our tribe . We have a rich history of ceremonial torcs in Ireland and , with twelve distinct family tribes ,our home city of Galway is known as the city of the tribes . Our Designs`foundation has a combined , rich history of tribal markings that span the globe from Celtic , Adinkra , Maori and Ojibwe tribes . Our influences are also drawn from a rich seam of art history including Wassily Kandinsky and Ukrainian-born abstract artist Kasimir Malevich to American kinetic sculptor, Alexander Calder . This combined with our contemporary urban aesthetic creates the beating heart of My Tribe.
